Community Midwives

Maternity care is provided by the Breckland Team of midwives who are based at Wymondham Health Centre. There are currently eight members of the team. At present, antenatal clinics at Cringleford surgery are held on a weekly basis, on a Monday afternoon.

The team have an answerphone service where non-urgent messages can be left - 01953 600155. Urgent enquiries should be directed via Medicom - 01603 481222. Requests for clinic appointments should be directed to the surgery.

The midwifery team provide antenatal and postnatal care for you and your baby, and also offer a home birth service for our low-risk women (even for first-time mums!)

We would recommend that you contact your doctor as soon as you think you are pregnant. We can then arrange for you to be seen at the midwives' clinic when you are approximately 8 weeks pregnant.

The doctors are keen to be involved in your antenatal care and will see you between 24 weeks and 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Community Nurses

District nurses are based at Wymondham Health Centre. They provide nursing care to people in their own homes who are too unwell to travel to the surgery. They are also part of out team providing care for the sick and terminally ill in their own homes. We meet monthly as the primary health care team.
